Painting
Dan Dunne

Throughout my work concepts of process and deconstruction of that process have been central while using styles of minimalist abstraction.

In recent years I have applied these concepts to make paintings based upon the human form. From nude studies made in drawing and photography, large and small scale paintings are produced which whilst are figurative in imagery also resonate strongly the relationship between object and maker. 'Unwanted' drips and brush marks are left and brought to the fore, layers of paint are stripped back to reveal the layers and processes beneath.
