Brenda Graham's paintings explores landscape and water from different angles. She uses a wide range of materials and techniques exploiting many aspects of mixed media. Her paintings are often about a place that she has known for a long time and visited at different times of the day or year. Changing light and weather conditions add an extra dimension. Sometimes realistic, sometimes not so much, all depends on the process of layering, washing and scraping back paint that helps to build up an interesting surface and captures colour.
She enjoys combining teaching art with producing her own work and finds one helps and informs the other. She enjoys working with different media including print making, ceramics and most recently stained glass. She has been teaching herself to make glass candle holders, mirror frames and sun catchers.
